Maharashtra Weather Outlook (July 9–13, 2025)

Konkan Division

The Konkan coast will continue to receive widespread rainfall.

Mumbai, Thane, Palghar: Heavy rainfall at isolated places on July 9, followed by light to moderate rain till July 13.
Raigad: Heavy rain on July 9 and 10, transitioning to moderate rainfall for the rest of the period.
Ratnagiri: Persistent moderate rain after heavy showers on July 9 and 10.
Sindhudurg: Heavy rainfall today (July 9), followed by moderate rain, with another spell of heavy rain on July 13.

Madhya Maharashtra Division

A mix of moderate and light rainfall is expected across this region.

Pune and Kolhapur: Light to moderate rain with Ghats of both districts likely to experience moderate to heavy rain throughout the period.
Satara and Sangli: Mostly light to moderate rain, with the Ghats of Satara likely to receive heavy rain on July 9 and 10.
Solapur: Light rain at isolated places each day.
Nashik and Ghats of Nashik: Moderate rain today and on July 13; light rain and thundershowers in between.
Ahmednagar (Ahilyanagar): Heavy rain today, then light to moderate showers and some thundershowers later.

Marathwada Division

This region will witness thundershowers and moderate rainfall with lightning in many districts.

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Beed, Hingoli, Nanded, Parbhani: Thunderstorms and gusty winds (30–40 kmph) expected, especially today. Moderate rainfall interspersed with isolated heavy showers is forecast.
Dharashiv, Latur: Mostly light rain with occasional thundershowers expected through the period.

Vidarbha Division

Heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is expected in eastern Vidarbha.

Nagpur, Bhandara, Gondia: Extremely heavy rainfall today, with heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms expected until July 11. Nagpur and Bhandara are particularly vulnerable.
Chandrapur, Gadchiroli: Persistent heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms till July 12.
Wardha, Amravati, Akola: Heavy rain and lightning today, reducing in intensity later. Amravati may continue to receive heavy rainfall until July 11.
Yavatmal, Washim, Buldhana: Thunderstorms and lightning likely at isolated places until July 11.

Yellow Alert (Be Alert)

Widespread across the state with variations:

Konkan: Mumbai, Palghar, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg are under yellow alerts for isolated heavy rainfall.
Ghat Areas: Ghats of Pune, Nashik, Kolhapur, and Satara have been flagged for heavy rainfall at isolated places.
Marathwada: Thunderstorm warnings due to gusty winds and lightning apply to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Beed, Jalna, Hingoli, Parbhani, and Nanded.
North Maharashtra: Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, and Nasik districts are under yellow warnings for thunderstorm activity today.
Western Vidarbha: Akola, Amravati, Buldhana, Yavatmal, Washim, and Wardha are under yellow alert for thunderstorms.

Orange Alert (Be Prepared)

Applied to specific districts in eastern Vidarbha:

Nagpur, Bhandara, Gondia: Extremely heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning today. The alert will likely downgrade to yellow after July 10.
Chandrapur and Gadchiroli: Heavy to very heavy rainfall expected until July 12.
Amravati and Wardha: Heavy rain warnings for July 9 and 10.
Akola: Thunderstorm activity with strong winds and lightning expected today and tomorrow.

Extreme Weather Watch

Several districts are under threat from extreme or very heavy rainfall and severe thunderstorms:

Nagpur, Bhandara, Gondia: Expect extremely heavy rainfall on July 9 with potential for flash floods, especially in low-lying areas.
Chandrapur, Gadchiroli: Three-day stretch (July 9–11) of very heavy rainfall and lightning poses risks of waterlogging, landslides in hilly terrain, and falling trees.

Advisory for all regions experiencing thunderstorms and gusty winds:
Residents are advised to stay indoors during thunderstorms, avoid sheltering under trees, and unplug electronic appliances. Agricultural communities in affected districts like Beed, Hingoli, Jalna, and Nashik are urged to safeguard harvested crops, support young plants, and avoid irrigation or pesticide spraying during this period.
