Maharashtra Weather, July 09, 2025: As the pace of monsoon picks up across Maharashtra, heavy rainfall has been registered at Nagpur and adjoining areas in Vidarbha division.

According to Anupam Kashyapi, noted weather scientist, rain is likely to continue over Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh for the next 36-48 hours, while Konkan will see widespread rain for a few more days. An orange alert has been issued for Raigad, Chandrapur, and the ghat areas of Nashik and Pune, meaning heavy rain is expected. A yellow alert remains in place for Pune’s ghats till the 10th, indicating moderate rainfall. Pune city may experience light, on-and-off showers over the next few days. Maharashtra Weather Outlook (July 9–13, 2025)
Konkan Division
The Konkan coast will continue to receive widespread rainfall.
- Mumbai, Thane, Palghar: Heavy rainfall at isolated places on July 9, followed by light to moderate rain till July 13.
- Raigad: Heavy rain on July 9 and 10, transitioning to moderate rainfall for the rest of the period.
- Ratnagiri: Persistent moderate rain after heavy showers on July 9 and 10.
- Sindhudurg: Heavy rainfall today (July 9), followed by moderate rain, with another spell of heavy rain on July 13.
Madhya Maharashtra Division
A mix of moderate and light rainfall is expected across this region.
- Pune and Kolhapur: Light to moderate rain with Ghats of both districts likely to experience moderate to heavy rain throughout the period.
- Satara and Sangli: Mostly light to moderate rain, with the Ghats of Satara likely to receive heavy rain on July 9 and 10.
- Solapur: Light rain at isolated places each day.
- Nashik and Ghats of Nashik: Moderate rain today and on July 13; light rain and thundershowers in between.

Marathwada Division
This region will witness thundershowers and moderate rainfall with lightning in many districts.
- Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Beed, Hingoli, Nanded, Parbhani: Thunderstorms and gusty winds (30–40 kmph) expected, especially today. Moderate rainfall interspersed with isolated heavy showers is forecast.
- Dharashiv, Latur: Mostly light rain with occasional thundershowers expected through the period.
Vidarbha Division
Heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is expected in eastern Vidarbha.
- Nagpur, Bhandara, Gondia: Extremely heavy rainfall today, with heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms expected until July 11. Nagpur and Bhandara are particularly vulnerable.
- Chandrapur, Gadchiroli: Persistent heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms till July 12.
- Wardha, Amravati, Akola: Heavy rain and lightning today, reducing in intensity later. Amravati may continue to receive heavy rainfall until July 11.
