Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis Reviews Key Infrastructure Projects, Stresses Timely Completion

Mumbai, June 20, 2025 – Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis chaired a high-level meeting at his official residence in Mumbai to review the progress of major infrastructure projects across the state. Senior officials and district authorities were directed to ensure strict adherence to deadlines, emphasizing that delays lead to cost escalation and public inconvenience.

Key Directives from CM Fadnavis

The meeting focused on expediting land acquisition and administrative approvals for critical projects. Key instructions included:

• Shaktipeeth Mahamarg: The blueprint must be finalized on the Gati Shakti Portal to minimize forest land impact. The Finance Department will allocate ₹12,000 crore for this project.
• Virar-Alibaug Corridor: Accelerate forest clearances and administrative processes for the Morbe-Karanja stretch.
• Wadhavan-Igatpuri Expressway: Submit a proposal under the Sagarmala scheme.
• Jalna-Nanded Road: Complete land acquisition in the Selu region within 15 days.
• Bhandara-Gadchiroli, Nagpur-Gondia, and Nagpur-Chandrapur Projects: Finalize plans on the Gati Shakti Portal immediately.
• Gadchiroli Airport: Conduct an Obstruction Limitation Survey (OLS) and submit a proposal.
• Akola Airport: Extend the runway to 2,400 meters for modernization.

A total of ₹53,354 crore has been earmarked for land acquisition across these 11 projects.

CM Fadnavis warned that non-compliance with deadlines would inflate project costs and delay public benefits. He urged officials to work in mission mode to fast-track land acquisition and clearances.
