The incident took place near a cement factory, where a worker was stepping out of the compound gate. At the same time, a lion happened to be strolling past the fence on the other side. Neither expected the other’s presence, and the sudden meeting left both in shock. In a split second, the man stepped back in fear, while the lion too turned away, clearly unsettled by the surprise.

The video was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by an Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer, who pointed out that even the “King of the Jungle” can panic when caught off guard. Social media users were quick to react, with many amused at how the lion’s reaction was as human as the worker’s.

Junagarh is located close to the Gir National Park, the last natural home of Asiatic lions in India. Encounters like these remind us that in regions bordering wildlife habitats, such unexpected meetings can happen anytime.
