The approval is seen as a major win for Public Works Minister Shivendrasinh Raje Bhosale, who has been pushing for an IT Park In Satara to create local employment opportunities and curb migration to other metros.

Proposal Followed Up Across Departments

Officials said Shivendrasinh Raje worked closely with various departments to ensure that engineering graduates and IT professionals from Satara would not need to move to Pune, Mumbai or other metro cities for jobs. He proposed using government-owned land in Nagewadi (Limb Khind), which was inspected by MIDC recently. The final proposal was submitted to the state government and has now been approved.

The minister thanked Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Industries Minister Uday Samant for supporting the project. With the land declared as an official industrial zone, further action on establishing the IT Park In Satara is expected to start soon. Officials have been instructed to fast-track follow-up procedures.

Why the IT Park Matters for Satara

The IT Park In Satara is expected to bring major benefits to the district such as:

  • New job opportunities for engineers, software professionals and students
  • Reduced migration to other cities for employment
  • Increased private investment in Satara
  • Boost to local economic growth and infrastructure development

Local youth have been demanding better opportunities in the technology sector for years, and this development aims to provide career options closer to home.

Next Steps for the Nagewadi Project

In the coming months, authorities will begin planning, infrastructure allocation and development work for the new IT Park In Satara. Once operational, the project is expected to position Satara as a rising technology hub in Maharashtra, attracting companies and startups to the district.

The initiative signals a significant step in decentralizing Maharashtra’s tech growth beyond established cities like Pune, Mumbai and Nagpur.
