PVR INOX has introduced a pioneering concept in India by launching the country’s first dine-in cinema experience at M5 ECity Mall in Bengaluru’s Electronic City. This innovative format blends gourmet dining with the cinematic journey, transforming traditional movie outings into immersive lifestyle events. Moviegoers can now enjoy chef-curated meals served directly to their seats, offering a seamless fusion of food and film entertainment.
The dine-in cinema hall features luxurious lounge-style reclining seats, ambient dim lighting, and a warm, intimate atmosphere facilitated by modern technology like Dolby Atmos sound and 4K Laser projection. The carefully crafted menu includes a diverse range of culinary delights sourced from multiple specialized food brands like Crosta (artisan pizzas), Cine Café (coffee and light bites), Steamestry (Asian steamed dishes), Dogfather (hot dogs), and Local Street (regional specialties). This unique offering encourages guests to indulge in premium dining while enjoying blockbuster movies without any interruptions.
PVR INOX’s Managing Director highlighted that this concept is designed to compete with OTT platforms by combining entertainment with lifestyle preferences such as dining and socializing. With a capacity of about 70 guests, the auditorium ensures optimal viewing sightlines and supreme comfort. Pricing follows a dynamic model based on events and includes options for two- or four-seater tables, making it suitable for families and couples alike.
Besides movies, this venue also serves as a platform for live entertainment such as gaming, comedy shows, and corporate events, giving it a versatile edge. Audience reception is mixed, with some praising this upscale combination and others expressing concerns about distraction during films and pricing.
