IKEA is all set to open its first physical outlet in the city, bringing its popular Scandinavian-style home products to Pune shoppers. The new Ikea Store in Pune will come up at Phoenix Marketcity Mall in Viman Nagar, with a “Hej Pune! We’re coming soon” poster already creating buzz online.
A Reddit user recently shared a photo of the giant teaser banner, confirming that preparations for the store launch are underway. “Hej” means “hello” in Swedish and is a signature greeting used across IKEA stores worldwide.

The upcoming Ikea Store in Pune will be located on the ground floor of Phoenix Marketcity.

- Situated in one of the busiest and most accessible malls in Viman Nagar
Lease and Financial Details
According to property records accessed by CRE Matrix, the leased space comes with the following terms:
- Total rent for 4 years and 11 months: ₹23.54 crore
- Starting monthly rent: ₹38.11 lakh for the first 36 months
- Increased monthly rent: ₹42.69 lakh for the remaining period
- Stamp duty paid: ₹6,26,800
- Registration fee: ₹1,000
The company will also pay:
- Common area maintenance (CAM): ₹7.45 lakh per month for the first 36 months, rising to ₹8.34 lakh later
- Security deposit: ₹2.28 crore
- CAM deposit: ₹44.71 lakh
IKEA’s Growing Presence in Pune
An IKEA spokesperson said that Pune has been a strong market for the brand. IKEA launched its e-commerce operations in Pune in January 2020, making it the second city in India to get full online access before a physical store opened.
They also highlighted that many Pune customers often travel to the Navi Mumbai store to shop. With the new Ikea Store in Pune, the brand aims to strengthen its omnichannel presence and offer a more convenient experience for residents.
The spokesperson added that more details about the city store will be shared soon.
