According to Ravi Kunwar, VP and CEO of HMD for India, APAC, Australia, and New Zealand, the company wants to strengthen its presence in the Indian market by offering quality devices at competitive prices. He added that this launch is not just about a product but about building a stronger connection between the brand and its customers.

The new smartphone, expected to debut during the festive sales, will mark HMD’s entry into the sub-10K 5G segment. Bollywood actress Sanya Malhotra, the brand ambassador for HMD smartphones, will feature in the upcoming TV campaign to promote the launch.

The device, likely to be called HMD Vibe, promises smooth performance with its octa-core processor and up to 3 GB of additional virtual RAM. It also boasts a two-day battery life, advanced AI-powered camera features, and a design that balances performance with affordability.

HMD has been manufacturing its devices in India for a while, which not only reduces logistics costs but also supports the government’s Make in India initiative by creating jobs and boosting the local economy.

With the launch of this budget-friendly 5G phone, HMD is hoping to attract first-time buyers as well as those looking for a value-for-money upgrade.
