Hadapsar–Jodhpur Daily Express Train Inauguration on May 3: Rail Connectivity Gets a Major Boost

Pune, May 2, 2025 — A long-awaited railway connection between Maharashtra and Rajasthan is finally set to roll. The Hadapsar–Jodhpur Express (Train Nos. 20495/20496) will be officially inaugurated on Saturday, May 3, 2025, by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw at Hadapsar Railway Station in Pune. This development marks a significant milestone for the Rajasthani community in Pune and the broader traveling public.

Special Inaugural Runs Announced

The inaugural run of the new express service will be carried out with special trains:

• Train No. 01401 (Hadapsar–Jodhpur Inaugural Special) will depart Hadapsar at 17:30 hrs on May 3 and arrive in Jodhpur at 14:00 hrs on May 4.
• Train No. 01402 (Jodhpur–Hadapsar One-Way TOD Special) will depart Jodhpur at 20:30 hrs on May 4 and reach Pune at 17:00 hrs on May 5.

Reservations for Train No. 01401 open on May 2 at 16:00 hrs via all computerized booking centers and the IRCTC website. Unreserved passengers can book tickets through the UTS app at standard superfast train rates.

Regular Daily Service from May 4

Following the inauguration, the Hadapsar–Jodhpur Express will begin daily operations as:

• Train No. 20495: Departs Jodhpur at 22:00 hrs, reaches Hadapsar at 17:20 hrs next day.
• Train No. 20496: Departs Hadapsar at 17:30 hrs, arrives in Jodhpur at 14:00 hrs next day.

Key Stoppages

The train will halt at several important stations en route, including:

• Chinchwad, Lonavala, Kalyan, Vasai Road, Vapi, Surat, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Mehsana, Palanpur, Abu Road, Pindwara, Jawai Bandh, Falna, Rani, Marwar Jn., Pali Marwar, Luni, among others.

Coach Composition

The daily express service consists of 22 coaches, featuring:

• 2 LWACCW, 4 LWACCN, 3 LWACCNE, 7 LWSCN, 4 LS, and 1 LSLRD.
  The inaugural specials (01401/01402) will run with:
• 1 AC 2-Tier, 4 AC 3-Tier Economy, 5 Sleeper Class, 4 General Second Class, 1 generator car, and 1 luggage-cum-guard brake van.
