Ganeshotsav 2025: Pune District Administration Issues Revised Dry Days and Liquor Ban Order
With Ganeshotsav 2025 started today, the Pune district administration has announced revised dry day orders to ensure smooth celebrations. The directive applies to liquor shops, bars, and permit rooms across Pune district on specific festival days.
As per the order, liquor sales will remain completely banned across the district on August 27 (Ganesh Chaturthi) and September 6 (Anant Chaturdashi). On September 7, the ban will continue until the Ganpati visarjan procession concludes.
Additionally, within Pune city, all liquor outlets along immersion routes must remain shut until the completion of the processions on the 5th and 7th day of the festival.
In areas where 5th and 7th-day immersions are held, shops along the procession routes will also be closed until the visarjan is over.
The police commissionerate has issued stricter rules for Khadki, Vishrambaug, and Faraskhana police station limits. In these areas, liquor sales will be prohibited for the entire day on August 27, August 31, September 2, and September 6, along with the immersion hours on September 7.
These restrictions, the administration said, are aimed at maintaining law and order during the festival and ensuring peaceful celebrations across Pune.
