Goa, June 10, 2025 – FLY91, the Goa-based regional airline, has officially launched its new direct flight service connecting Goa and Solapur, marking a significant expansion in Maharashtra’s air connectivity. The inaugural flight, which took off on June 9, 2025, was greeted with a traditional water cannon salute at Solapur Airport, symbolizing a warm welcome for the airline’s entry into the city.

Flight Schedule and Operations

The Goa–Solapur–Goa route will operate four times a week—on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The full flight schedule is available on FLY91’s official website.

In a nod to regional culture, all in-flight announcements will be made in both Marathi and English, ensuring a comfortable experience for local passengers.

Solapur: FLY91’s 8th Destination & 4th in Maharashtra

With the addition of Solapur, FLY91 now serves eight Indian cities, including four in Maharashtra:

  • Pune
  • Jalgaon
  • Sindhudurg
  • Solapur

Other destinations in FLY91’s network include Goa, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Agatti.

Government Support and Inauguration Ceremony

The inaugural flight was flagged off by Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Co-operation, Murlidhar Mohol, in the presence of Guardian Minister Jaykumar Gore, local MLAs, state officials, Airports Authority of India representatives, and FLY91 executives.

Due to poor weather conditions, Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Ministers Ajit Pawar and Eknath Shinde could not attend but extended their best wishes for the new route.

Economic and Tourism Benefits

FLY91’s CEO, Manoj Chacko, emphasized the route’s significance:

“The Goa–Solapur route bridges two culturally and economically strong regions, supporting tourism, business, and pilgrimage travel. Solapur’s textile industry and its proximity to key pilgrimage sites like Pandharpur, Tuljapur, Akkalkot, Gangapur, and Bhimashankar make this route highly valuable.”

Future Expansion Plans

FLY91 is set to further expand its Maharashtra network with:

  • Direct flights from Nanded to Goa and Bengaluru starting July 2025.
  • Plans to add another ATR 72-600 aircraft to its existing fleet of three.
