This achievement also makes it the top-ranked medical college in Maharashtra. Over the years, the college has worked on improving its educational environment, upgrading hospital facilities, and investing in research and faculty development. Innovative teaching methods and state-of-the-art infrastructure have further strengthened its position as a leader in medical education.

The wider D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, which the college is part of, has also performed strongly across multiple categories. It secured the 4th rank in the dental category, 41st in the university category, and 71st overall. The institution was also placed in the 11-50 band under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) category.

Dr. P.D. Patil, Chancellor of D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, said that these rankings reflect the institution’s dedication to quality education, research, infrastructure, and social responsibility. Dr. N.J. Pawar, Vice Chancellor, highlighted that the rankings reinforce their focus on academic excellence.

On Teachers’ Day, senior leadership, including Dr. Smita Jadhav and Dr. Yashraj Patil, congratulated the staff and encouraged them to aim for even higher achievements.

The dental college, in particular, has consistently remained among the top five in the country. Dr. Brig S.K. Roy Chowdhury, Dean of D.Y. Patil Dental College, shared that their research initiatives, especially a dedicated molecular sciences lab, have been instrumental in driving academic success. He also noted that 14 undergraduate dental students in their second year received the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Short-Term Studentship award this year.

The ICMR-STS programme is designed to introduce undergraduate students to research methodology by involving them in ongoing projects, offering them hands-on experience early in their careers.

With these achievements, Dr. D.Y. Patil Medical College continues to set benchmarks in medical education and research while serving as a key healthcare provider in the region.
