Container Carrying Industrial Material from Chakan to Chennai Catches Fire Near Khed Shivapur Bridge
Pune, October 14, 2025: A container truck carrying industrial material from Chakan to Chennai caught fire near Kondhanpur Bridge at Khed Shivapur on Tuesday. The driver noticed smoke coming from the vehicle and quickly diverted it towards a washing centre on the service road in an attempt to control the fire.
The incident took place under the jurisdiction of Rajgad Police Station, Khed Shivapur outpost. Police personnel swiftly reached the spot. They immediately informed the fire brigade and began efforts to douse the flames.

Firefighters soon arrived and started the operation to extinguish the blaze. Fortunately, no injuries or loss of life were reported in the incident.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire, which is suspected to have originated due to overheating or a technical fault in the container. Traffic movement in the area was briefly affected but was later restored after the situation was brought under control.
