In a significant move toward digitizing education services, the Maharashtra state school education department has officially launched the website https://mahafyjcadmissions.in for Class 11 admissions for the academic year 2025–26. The entire admission process across all districts of Maharashtra will now be conducted exclusively online.

Junior colleges across the state can now begin registering on the newly launched portal. The student registration process is scheduled to commence on May 19, 2025.

Fully Online Admissions for 2025–26

According to officials, every student seeking admission to Class 11 in Maharashtra will have to apply through this unified digital platform. “This online process aims to streamline admissions and bring uniformity across the state,” said a senior education officer.

The initiative is expected to make the process more efficient and accessible for students and parents alike. However, the transition hasn’t been without challenges.

Delay and Fake Website Concerns

The government had originally planned to activate the official portal on May 8, but technical issues led to a delay. In the interim, a fake website surfaced online, mimicking the government portal. This fraudulent site used the official logo and images of the School Education Minister to advertise certain junior colleges.

No strict action has been taken yet against the creators of the fake website, though the Education Department is reportedly aware of the issue and is expected to act soon.

Advisory for Parents and Students

Authorities have urged all students and parents to be extremely cautious and ensure they are using the official website only. “There is a risk of falling prey to misinformation or online scams,” the official warned.

Voices from the Ground

A student awaiting admission, expressed both relief and frustration: “I’ve been waiting for the Class 11 admission website to start for weeks now, especially with all the uncertainty around the dates. It’s a relief that the official site is finally live, but I wish the process had been more transparent from the beginning. With so many fake websites going around, it’s been confusing for me and my parents.”

The launch of the portal marks a major step in the digitization of school admissions in Maharashtra, but the incident also underlines the need for better communication and stronger cybersecurity protocols during public system rollouts.
