Car Stunt Goes Wrong: Youth Injured After Vehicle Plunges into Ravine Near Satara’s Reverse Waterfall

Satara, 11th July 2025 – A dangerous car stunt ended in disaster when a vehicle veered off the road and plunged into a deep ravine near the famous reverse waterfall in Gujarwadi Ghat, Mhavshi village. The incident occurred on the Patan-Sadawaghapur-Tarle road, a scenic yet hazardous stretch known for sharp turns and steep drops.
Daredevil Stunt Turns Dangerous
Eyewitnesses reported that the 20-year-old driver was attempting a risky maneuver near Table Point, a notorious sharp curve, when he lost control of the car. The vehicle careened off the road and tumbled down the hillside into the gorge below. Fortunately, the driver’s companions were outside the car at the time and escaped unharmed.
Dramatic Rescue by Trainees & Police
A group of Kingmaker Academy trainees, conducting police recruitment exercises nearby, quickly responded to the crash. Under the direction of Academy Director Vikas Sakpal, they worked alongside Patan Police Inspector Avinash Kavathekar and his team to retrieve the injured driver from the wreckage.
The victim, whose identity has been withheld, was rushed to a private hospital in Karhad in critical condition. Authorities confirmed that he is currently undergoing treatment.

Police Investigation Underway
Inspector Kavathekar stated, “This appears to be a case of reckless driving, possibly a stunt gone wrong. We are investigating the exact circumstances.” He warned against dangerous driving stunts in the area, emphasizing the risks posed by the terrain.
The reverse waterfall, a major tourist attraction, draws thrill-seekers, but authorities are now considering stricter road safety measures to prevent similar incidents.
