Amravati, June 21 – In a remarkable feat celebrating International Yoga Day, police officer Praveen Akhare from Amravati set a new world record by performing yoga asanas 11 feet underwater. Akhare, known for his expertise in aquatic yoga, achieved this extraordinary milestone at a local swimming pool, drawing a large crowd of spectators and officials.

A Record-Breaking Achievement

Praveen Akhare, a dedicated police employee posted at the Amravati Police Headquarters, has previously set multiple records in swimming and yoga. Last year, he held a one-hour underwater yoga session, showcasing his exceptional breath control and discipline. This year, he pushed his limits further by performing various yoga poses in 11 feet of water for 1 hour and 2 minutes without any movement, earning him entries in both the India Book of Records and the Asia Book of Records.

Years of Dedication Behind the Feat

Akhare, who also manages the police swimming training center, has been training rigorously for this challenge over the past year. His efforts were supported by Police Commissioner Navinchandra Reddy, who granted special permission for the event.
