As heavy rains have thrown normal life out of gear in several parts of Maharashtra, including Mumbai and Pune, airports and airlines have urged passengers to plan their travel with extra care. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast more rain in the coming days, raising likelihood of flight delays and traffic jams.
Authorities at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai have advised passengers to check their flight status with airlines before leaving home. They also cautioned that waterlogging and traffic congestion across the city could delay travel to the airport.

Akasa Air has issued similar advisories for passengers flying from Mumbai, Pune, Goa and Bengaluru. The airline has asked travelers to factor in slow-moving traffic, reach the airport well in advance, and monitor flight updates online to avoid last-minute inconvenience.
