The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast more rain in the coming days, raising likelihood of flight delays and traffic jams.

Authorities at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai have advised passengers to check their flight status with airlines before leaving home. They also cautioned that waterlogging and traffic congestion across the city could delay travel to the airport.

Akasa Air has issued similar advisories for passengers flying from Mumbai, Pune, Goa and Bengaluru. The airline has asked travelers to factor in slow-moving traffic, reach the airport well in advance, and monitor flight updates online to avoid last-minute inconvenience.

With the monsoon showing no signs of easing, flyers have been reminded to keep buffer time in hand, especially for early morning or late-night flights when road conditions may be unpredictable.
