Mumbai, November 22, 2025: Air India Express has announced that Air India to Commence Flights from Navi Mumbai International Airport starting December 25. The first flight will depart for Bengaluru from the newly built facility, marking the beginning of commercial operations at the airport.

The launch will strengthen the airline’s connectivity within India and support growing demand from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The announcement comes as part of Air India Express’ wider expansion plan.

Key Routes from Opening Day

Air India to Commence Flights from Navi Mumbai International Airport on the following routes:

  • Daily direct flights to Bengaluru
  • Five weekly flights to Delhi

Both Bengaluru and Delhi are among the airline’s largest domestic hubs. From January 2026, the airline plans to operate twice-daily services on both routes.

Expanding Network from Bengaluru

Air India Express recently added several new domestic routes from Bengaluru, including:

  • Ahmedabad
  • Chandigarh
  • Dehradun
  • Jodhpur
  • Udaipur

The carrier has also launched direct international flights from the city to Bangkok, Jeddah, Kuwait, and Riyadh.

Airline’s Statement

Airline MD Aloke Singh said that Air India to Commence Flights from Navi Mumbai International Airport will help address capacity issues in the Mumbai region and support growth across western India. He added that more flights will be introduced in phases as operations expand from the new airport.

The airline currently operates over 500 daily flights, connecting 45 domestic and 16 international destinations, with a fleet of 115 aircraft including Boeing 737s and Airbus A320s.

The new airport aims to reduce congestion at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and provide smoother connectivity for travellers.
