Pune, May 29, 2025 â€“ According to Sakha Sanap, Scientist at Climate Research and Services, India Meteorological Department (IMD), Pune, Maharashtra is likely to experience below-average rainfall in the coming weeks, with significant variations across different regions.

Key Four-Week Rainfall Forecast for Maharashtra

Week 1 (May 30 to June 5, 2025)

Except for Konkan, Ghat areas, and some parts of Vidarbha, most regions of Maharashtra are expected to receive below-average rainfall.

Week 2 (June 6 to June 12, 2025)

major dry spell is anticipated, with most parts of Maharashtra likely to receive less-than-average rainfall.

Week 3 (June 13 to June 19, 2025)

Good rainfall is expected in most regions, except for South-Central Maharashtra, Konkan, and some parts of Vidarbha.

Week 4 (June 20 to June 26, 2025)

Except for Konkan and parts of North Maharashtra, rainfall is expected to be below average.

Sanap noted that the first two weeks’ predictions are more accurate, while reliability decreases thereafter. The next update will be released next Thursday after new model forecasts.
