AC Blast in Faridabad Kills Family of Three and Their Pet Dog
Faridabad, September 9, 2025: A devastating accident took place early Monday morning in Haryana’s Faridabad, where three members of a family and their pet dog lost their lives after an air conditioner exploded.
The blast occurred around 1:30 am on the first floor of a four-storey building in the Greenfield Colony. Thick smoke quickly spread to the second floor where the Kapoor family was sleeping. The victims have been identified as Sachin Kapoor, his wife Rinku Kapoor, and their daughter Sujan Kapoor. Their son, Aryan, managed to escape by jumping out of a window but remains in critical condition.
According to neighbours, the first floor, where the AC unit exploded, was unoccupied at the time. The Kapoor family lived on the second floor, while the third floor was used by Sachin Kapoor as an office, and the fourth floor housed another family.

A neighbour, Mayank, described how they woke up after hearing the loud blast and immediately rushed to help. “We then tried to rescue others trapped inside,” he told reporters.

Emergency teams, including the police and fire brigade, arrived quickly but faced challenges due to the dense smoke. Firefighters took control of the fire with two fire engines, but by then, the lives of three family members had already been lost.
Investigators are currently looking into how the AC compressor exploded. Authorities are gathering more details as the rescue and investigation continue.
