CM Devendra Fadnavis Travels on Pune Metro Line 3 Route, Interacts with Students and IT Professionals
Pune, November 04, 2026: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis travelled on the newly inaugurated metro route from Shiv Chhatrapati Krida Sankul in Balewadi to Hinjewadi Phase-2, accompanied by Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Ajit Pawar. The journey followed the inauguration of the new Pune Metro route and the foundation stone laying ceremony for Pune Metro Phase-2.
Fadnavis purchased the first ticket on the new route and experienced the metro journey. During the approximately six-kilometre journey, Pune Metro Managing Director Shravan Hardikar briefed him about the route, stations and various features of the project.
The journey was particularly notable as the Pink Metro was operated by an all-women train pilot team. Lead train pilot Pragati Biradar operated the train, with train pilot Aishwarya Suryapujari also playing an important role.
During the journey, Fadnavis interacted with school students and IT professionals (ITNs), discussing their metro travel experience, the facilities available and the benefits of the new route for daily commuting.
Union Minister of State Muralidhar Mohol, Minister of State Madhuri Misal, Pune Mayor Manjusha Nagpure, Pimpri-Chinchwad Mayor Ravi Landge, PMRDA Commissioner Abhijit Chaudhary, public representatives and senior officials were also present during the journey.
The journey brought together interactions with commuters and the participation of women train pilots, marking a special occasion following the inauguration of the new metro route.
