NICMAR University, Pune, awarded degrees to 1,369 students across 12 academic programs at its 3rd Convocation Ceremony held at the university’s Main Auditorium on Friday, October 23, 2026. The ceremony also marked the graduation of the university’s first PhD scholar, admitted in 2023.
The convocation brought together university officials, faculty members, distinguished guests and graduating students to celebrate the completion of their academic programmes.
Dr. Vijay Gupchup, President of NICMAR University, Pune, formally declared the ceremony open. Dr. Anil Agarwal, Vice Chancellor, welcomed the gathering and administered the oath to the graduating students. He highlighted the milestone of the university’s first PhD graduate and encouraged students to apply the knowledge and values gained during their studies in their professional lives.
Degrees were formally conferred by the university President, while Dr. C. Jayakumar, Senior Vice President and Head of Corporate Human Resources at Larsen & Toubro Limited, addressed the graduates on the importance of dedication, integrity, innovation and responsibility.
Jayakumar encouraged students to use their knowledge to address real-world challenges, contribute to sustainable urban development and participate in nation-building.
The morning session also featured the conferral of PhD degrees and the presentation of Gold Medals to 12 students for their academic performance.
The gold medallists were Sayali Dabholkar for MBA in Advanced Construction Management; Ishita Shakti for Bachelor of Business Administration; Nikhil J. Rajurkar for MBA in Advanced Project Management; Deekshiit S. for MBA in Real Estate and Urban Infrastructure Management; and Haj Hafeeza M. for Post Graduate Diploma in Quantity Surveying and Contracts Management.
The other recipients were Gujar Shrisha Sanjay for MBA in Environmental Sustainability; Durga N. for MBA in Sustainable Energy Management; Sandra Thankam for Master of Business Administration; N. Dinesh for Master of Planning; Akhil Jayaprakash for MBA in Family Business and Entrepreneurship; Jadhav Charul Vijay for M.Tech in Construction Technology and Management; and Patil Anjali Anil for M.Tech in Infrastructure Project Management.
The degree-distribution sessions featured addresses by Dr. L.P. Singh, Director General of NCB; Dr. C. Jayakumar of Larsen & Toubro Limited; and Dr. Manohar G. Chaskar, Vice Chancellor of SRTM University, Nanded. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.
