Pune Traffic Diversions: New Routes Announced in Market Yard for Swargate-Katraj Metro Work

Pune Traffic Police have announced temporary traffic changes in the Market Yard area, to ease congestion and ensure smooth and safe movement during the underground metro project between Swargate and Katraj.

The changes have been introduced on an experimental basis until further orders by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Dr Sandeep Bhajibhakare.

Vehicles coming from Upper Bibwewadi via Chandralok Chowk will not be allowed to turn right at Pushpmangal Chowk towards Swargate Market Yard or Utsav Hotel. These vehicles must turn left, take a U-turn near Arneshwar bus stop via the stretch opposite Tanishq showroom, and proceed towards Swargate.

Traffic travelling from Swargate via Pune-Satara Road, as well as vehicles heading from Market Yard towards Satara, Katraj and Bibwewadi, must use the route alongside Wellness Medical Store and Bhapkar Petrol Pump, proceeding via Pushpmangal Chowk towards Katraj and Upper Bibwewadi.

Vehicles coming from Pushpmangal Chowk will not be allowed to turn right towards Market Yard or Utsav Hotel Chowk. They must proceed straight, take a U-turn near Adinath Society and then reach Market Yard or Utsav Hotel Chowk to continue towards their destinations.

Vehicles travelling from Market Yard or Utsav Hotel Chowk towards Swargate will also not be allowed to turn right. Vehicles coming from Market Yard should use Vakhark Mahamandal Chowk to reach their destinations. Alternatively, they can take a U-turn via Pushpmangal Chowk, Tanishq showroom and Arneshwar bus stop, as specified in the traffic order.

Pune Traffic Police have urged motorists to use the designated routes during the diversion period and cooperate with traffic personnel and volunteers.
