Pune: Pimpri Chinchwad Team Tops Divisional Thai Boxing Competition; 370 Players Take Part
Pune: The Pimpri Chinchwad city team secured first place at the Pune Divisional Level Thai Boxing Sports Competition held at Bina Sports Club, Akurdi, on Sunday, September 20. A total of 370 players from seven districts of Pune division participated in the competition.
Matches were held across different age and weight categories. Ahilyanagar district finished second, while the Solapur district team secured third place.
The competition was inaugurated in the presence of Azhar Khan, founder-president of Bina English School; the NCP president of Pimpri Chinchwad; and P. Y. Attar of the Thai Boxing Federation of India.
The technical management was handled by the president of Pune Divisional Thai Boxing along with international referee Karbhari Gaikwad. Najim Sheikh and Priyanka Ajmatti also officiated as referees.
Ganesh Mandhare and Abhishek Shinde organised and planned the competition, while Raviraj Gadhve coordinated the programme. Samadhan Gaikwad guided the students.
The medal winners were:
- Gold: Aarav Chohan, Atharv Patel
- Silver: Jiansh Kothari
- Bronze: Jai Singh, Rabda Solkar, Sainik Pandit, Hanush Parikh, Shanvi Jha, Shaurya Shukla, Advait Devashi, Pranshul Thombre and Shervil Garge
