Pune Traffic Police Announce Diversions During Protest Rally in the City Today
PUNE: The City Traffic Police have issued a traffic advisory announcing temporary route changes today, July 24, 2026, due to a planned protest march in the city center. The diversions will take effect from 3:00 PM onwards as per requirement.
Rally Route
The protest march will start at Lal Mahal and proceed through Phadke Haud, Daruwala Pool, Narpatgiri Chowk, and Bolai Mata Mandir Chowk, terminating at the District Collector’s Office.
Affected Roads
Commuters are likely to face congestion on the following roads:
- Ganesh Road
- Kelkar Road
- Shivaji Road
- Nehru Road
Alternate Routes
Traffic police have requested commuters to plan their travel using these alternative options:
- Laxmi Road
- Surya Hospital to 15 August Chowk
- ABC Chowk to Phutka Buruj
- Jangali Maharaj (JM) Road, Nadipatra (Riverbed) Road, or Tilak Road
- Banerjee Chowk to Nehru Memorial Route
Commuters are advised to avoid affected roads and strictly follow instructions from on-duty traffic personnel to ensure smooth traffic movement.
