To avoid any last-minute hassles and protect your right to vote, here is everything you need to know and do before a BLO visits your home:

1. Verify Your Details Online First

Do not wait for the physical visit to check your status. You can instantly verify your name, spelling, and registration details digitally.

Official Website: Visit voters.eci.gov.in.

Mobile App: Download and use the ECINet App.

QR Code: Scan the official QR code provided on the electoral revision notices to search your details directly.

2. Update Your Photograph

If your photograph on the electoral roll is blurry, outdated, or missing, you should update it. Ensure you have a recent, clear passport-sized photograph ready to be updated either through the portal or when the officer arrives.

3. Keep One of These Documents Ready (If Name is Missing)

If you check online and find that your name is missing from the Electoral Roll, you can rectify it by keeping any one of the following prescribed official identity or residency documents ready for the BLO:

Aadhaar Card (Identity Proof)

Passport

Birth Certificate

Class 10 Certificate

Residence Certificate

Land or House Allotment Certificate

4. Aim of the Drive

The Election Commission’s primary objective for SIR 2026 follows a strict dual rule to maintain democratic integrity: “No Eligible Voter Left Behind. No Ineligible Voter Included.” Ensuring your data is verified helps build a stronger, error-free voting system.
