Pune residents can rejoice as India Post has launched a doorstep parcel pickup service for retail customers across Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad. This means customers will be no longer required to physically visit a post office to send a parcel, rather, they can do it from the comfort of their home.

This service was recently inaugurated by Postmaster General (Pune Region) Preeti Agarwal and Director of Postal Services Abhijit Bansode.

Until now, the doorstep pickup service was limited to corporate and ecommerce clients, sending parcels in bulk but now even for a single parcel, an individual can book the doorstep pickup. This will bring the India Post parcel service at par with their more expensive private counterparts but at a much competitive and affordable price.

Preeti Agarwal said this doorstep collection service is an important step towards bringing postal services closer to citizens. She stated that this initiative will save customers valuable time and travel expenses while making the parcel booking process simpler, quicker and more convenient.

Agarwal further added that India Post has been continuously modernizing its services to meet the evolving expectations of customers. The newly introduced “Parcel Pick-Up at Your Doorstep” service is an another effort in that direction, and she has appealed to the residents and businesses to take advantage of the facility..

How to Book Doorstep Parcel Pickup With India Post in Pune

In order to make the booking process simpler, the Pune Postal Department has divided the city into two operational zones with dedicated Phone and WhatsApp booking hotlines:

Zone 1: Pimpri-Chinchwad (PCMC), Pune Cantonment, Khadki Cantonment, Yerwada, Hinjawadi IT Park, Hadapsar, NIBM, Kondhwa, Bhosari, and Market Yard.
