Pune, June 21, 2026: If you have ever traveled towards Kolhapur/Bengaluru from Pune then you would surely witnessed the traffic moving at snail’s pace at Karad, after crossing Satara, where the flyover work has been going on for more than two years.

However this traffic bottleneck will soon be a thing of the past as NHAI has opened the 3.47 km long flyover to light traffic today on a trial basis and after successful trials, it will be opened to all types of traffic.

The trials will be carried out for two days and if all goes well, all types of traffic will be allowed on this flyover. This is the longest flyover on the Satara-Kagal six-lane section. It is 3.47 km long, 29.4 meters wide and is built on 92 pillars.

The deadline to open the flyover was extended thrice and motorists, particularly on weekends had to ensure 2-3 hours traffic jams in either direction.
