The collaboration is designed to bridge the traditional gap between academic theory and industrial application. By integrating Dassault Systèmes’ world-renowned 3DEXPERIENCE platform into the curriculum, DYPIU aims to transform its Smart Manufacturing program into a hub for “industry-ready” talent.

A First-of-its-Kind Facility in Maharashtra

The new Experience Centre is set to be one of the first facilities of its kind in the state. It will house specialized labs focused on the future of production, including:

  • NextGen Product Innovation Lab
  • Intelligent Production System Lab
  • Virtual Twin and Simulation Lab (featuring Virtual Reality capabilities)

Students will work directly with cutting-edge technologies such as generative design, multi-physics simulations, and digital manufacturing systems, allowing them to experiment in a virtual environment before moving to physical production.

Fostering Industry 4.0 and ‘Make in India’

Speaking on the initiative, Deepak NG, Managing Director, India, Dassault Systèmes, emphasized the alignment with national goals. “By enabling access to virtual twin technologies, we aim to foster an innovation-driven ecosystem aligned with the ‘Make in India’ vision and Industry 4.0 demands,” he stated.

Prof. (Dr.) Manish Bhalla, Vice Chancellor of DYPIU, highlighted the impact on the student body. “This initiative will empower our students and faculty to innovate, work with cutting-edge technologies, and emerge as truly future-ready engineers,” Bhalla said, noting that students will engage in solving real-world industry problems through live projects and internships.

The partnership also includes a comprehensive three-year “Training of Trainers” (ToT) program to ensure faculty members are experts in advanced digital workflows, ensuring the university remains at the forefront of engineering education for years to come.
