Joint Inspection Conducted for Sus–Baner–Pashan ‘Missing Link’ Roads to Ease Traffic
Pune, February 11, 2026: In a muck needed step to resolve the long-standing traffic woes of Western Pune, a high-level joint site inspection was conducted on Tuesday morning to expedite the development of “missing link” roads in the Sus, Baner, and Pashan areas.
The inspection, held on February 10, 2026, follows a recent strategic meeting chaired by Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Minister, Chandrakant Patil. Leading the on-ground assessment was Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Additional Municipal Commissioner (Special), Omprakash Divte.
Key Infrastructure Projects Under Review
The delegation visited several critical bottlenecks that have been hampering connectivity between the developing suburbs and the main city. Key sites included:
- Kaspate Vasti Bridge: Inspection of the roadwork near the bridge connecting Pune and Wakad.
- Someshwar Wadi: Review of DP (Development Plan) roads and various missing links in the temple vicinity.
- Sunny’s World Khind (Sus-Nande Road): Critical assessment of the road-widening project in Balewadi to improve traffic flow toward Nande.
Directives for Land Acquisition
During the visit, Commissioner Divte issued firm instructions to the concerned departments to prioritize land acquisition and initiate immediate administrative action. The goal is to bridge these infrastructure gaps to provide a seamless commute for residents of the IT and residential hubs.
The inspection saw active participation from local leadership and technical experts, including former corporators Baburao Chandere, Amol Balwadkar, and Rohini Chimte, along with Rahul Kokate (representing Mayuri Rahul Kokate). Representing the PMC’s technical wing were Chief Engineer (Road Department) Rajesh Bankar and Superintending Engineer Abhijit Ambekar.
