Pune: Class 10 Student Stabbed to Death by Classmate at Rajgurunagar Coaching Centre
Pune, December 15: A shocking incident of juvenile violence has rocked Rajgurunagar, Pune district, after a 16-year-old Class 10 student was fatally stabbed by a classmate inside a private coaching centre classroom on Monday. The attack, which police believe stemmed from a prior dispute, has raised serious concerns about student safety at private educational facilities.
The incident occurred during class hours at a coaching centre in Rajgurunagar. The victim and the accused were both Class 10 students enrolled at the same institute.
According to police officials, the accused allegedly attacked his classmate with a knife inside the classroom. The injured student was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment but tragically succumbed to his injuries. (PTI)
Dispute Turned Fatal
Preliminary investigations by the Khed police station suggest the brutal assault was the fallout of an earlier disagreement between the two teenagers.
“A boy, who was carrying a knife, suddenly attacked a classmate inside a classroom at the coaching centre on Monday morning,” an official from Khed police station stated. “A primary investigation suggested there was some dispute between the two boys. We are probing the exact reason behind the attack,” he added.
Officers from Khed police station arrived at the scene shortly after the incident to secure the premises and commence a thorough investigation. Statements from teachers, students, and staff present at the time are being recorded to fully reconstruct the sequence of events.
Legal Action Initiated
Police confirmed that the process is underway to detain the accused student. As the assailant is a minor, legal action is being initiated under the appropriate provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act.
