Monsoon Withdrawal Likely in 2–3 Days
Former IMD Pune weather forecasting head Anupam Kashyapi, while sharing Pune weather update, stated that thunderstorms and lightning are expected across Maharashtra, including Mumbai and Pune, over the next 48–72 hours. He added that after this phase, rapid moisture depletion from north-central Maharashtra will lead to the withdrawal of the monsoon from the region within the next two to three days.
At present, the monsoon withdrawal line passes through south Gujarat, north Madhya Pradesh, and western Uttar Pradesh, and has not yet reached Maharashtra. However, IMD officials say that the process is likely to begin soon.

Rising Temperatures Across Pune
With the retreat of the monsoon and reduced cloud cover, Pune’s day temperatures have surged. The Pune Weather Update indicates that the city may continue to experience hot and dry conditions till the monsoon withdrawal is complete. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to the afternoon sun.
