Pune: PMRDA Speeds Up Land Acquisition for 65-Meter Wide Inner Ring Road Project
The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has begun expediting the land acquisition process for the 65-meter-wide Inner Ring Road project. To ensure transparency and cooperation, officials have started holding direct discussions with farmers from affected villages.
Recently, land acquisition meetings were held at Mauje Solu in Khed taluka and Nirgudi in Haveli taluka. Officials from the District Collector’s land acquisition branch announced the finalized land rates. PMRDA representatives also provided detailed information on direct purchase, Transferable Development Rights (TDR), and government provisions related to compensation and entitlements.
Farmers and local residents raised questions, doubts, and concerns during the meetings. PMRDA assured that the process would remain transparent and citizen-friendly.
Once completed, the Ring Road project is expected to reduce traffic congestion, boost regional connectivity, and strengthen Pune’s infrastructure growth. The project is seen as a key step in improving urban mobility and supporting future development across the Pune Metropolitan Region.
