Over a hundred travelers faced a frustrating and exhausting ordeal early Wednesday morning when a Dubai-Pune SpiceJet flight was abruptly cancelled after multiple delays, leaving them stranded at the airport.

The flight, SG-52, was originally scheduled to depart from Dubai at 12:05 AM and arrive in Pune at 4:40 AM. However, passengers were first told of a delay until 12:55 AM, which was then pushed further to 1:30 AM. Hopes were briefly raised when boarding began, but the process was suddenly stopped without any clear explanation from the airline’s staff.

After hours of waiting in uncertainty, the final blow came around 4:15 AM when the airline officially announced the cancellation of the Dubai-Pune SpiceJet flight.

The lack of communication was a major point of frustration. Some passengers took to social media, alleging that the real reason for the disruption was a technical problem, such as an oil leak, and questioned why they were kept in the dark.

For many, the cancellation was just the start of the problems. Passengers had to go through the lengthy process of exiting back through immigration. Retrieving checked luggage became another challenge, with some waiting nearly two hours to collect their bags, finally getting them around 6:00 AM.

One passenger, Toufiq Desai, shared his experience, calling it a “nightmare” and highlighting the lack of staff available to assist with the situation.

In an official statement, SpiceJet confirmed the cancellation, citing a “technical issue” as the cause. The airline stated, “While the majority of the passengers were accommodated on an alternate flight, few opted for a full refund.”

For those onboard, the promised alternate flights and refunds did little to immediately ease the stress of a long night spent at the airport, turning what should have been a simple journey into a travel nightmare.
