Flash Flood in Theur; PMRDA and PDRF Rescue 70 Stranded Residents in Early Morning Operation

Early Monday morning, a sudden flash flood in the village of Theur, located in the Haveli taluka, sent water rushing into the Rupa Vasti settlement. The incident, which occurred around 3 AM, left approximately 100 residents trapped as their homes were quickly inundated with water.
Upon receiving the alert, a coordinated rescue operation was immediately launched. Teams from the PMRDA’s Wagholi Fire Station and a PDRF squad rushed to the scene without delay.
In a swift and well-organized effort, the rescue teams worked together to evacuate 70 citizens who were stranded inside their homes. Thanks to their prompt action, all residents were brought to safety, and no human lives were lost.

The flood did, however, have a significant impact on livestock. While rescue workers managed to save a number of cows, goats, and chickens, some animals were sadly swept away by the strong currents, and others perished.
Officials have confirmed that the timely response from the PMRDA and PDRF rescue squads was crucial in preventing a major tragedy, ensuring that what could have been a devastating event resulted in no human casualties.
