The incident began in the afternoon in Daundaj village. Three men had just robbed a local home, making off with cash and valuables worth over ₹2.2 lakh. As they tried to escape, alert villagers spotted them and immediately gave chase.

The pursuit was so intense that the villagers nearly caught the suspects, but the robbers managed to get away by threatening them with a gun. By the time police from the Jejuri station arrived, the accused had vanished into a vast, dense sugarcane field, a notoriously difficult place to search.

That’s when the police decided to call in the drones.

With the help of villagers who helped surround the field, officers launched drones equipped with cameras. From the sky, the technology quickly picked up movement in the thick crops below. Pinpointing their location, police moved in and arrested all three men.

Authorities identified the arrested individuals as Lakansingh Ghudhani, Behatsingh Kalyani, and Ratnesh Puri. The search is still on for two more suspects believed to be involved. Shockingly, police revealed that the arrested men have long criminal histories and are linked to more than 100 past cases.

This successful capture shows how community vigilance, combined with smart policing and technology, can effectively tackle crime, even in the most challenging situations.
