Pune Police Issue Traffic Diversions and Parking Plan for Ganesh Visarjan 2025
Pune Traffic Police have issued detailed traffic arrangements for the Ganesh Visarjan processions starting on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 9 am. The rules will remain in place until the processions end on Sunday, September 7, 2025.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Himmat Jadhav has ordered road closures, diversions, parking restrictions, and special routes to ensure smooth and safe processions.
Roads Closed for Traffic
The following roads will be closed at different times between September 6 and 7 until immersion processions are completed:
- Shivaji Road – Kakasaheb Gadgil statue to Jedhe Chowk
- Laxmi Road – Sant Kabir Chowki to Alka Talkies Chowk
- Tilak Road – Jedhe Chowk to Tilak Chowk
- Bajirao Road – Sant Kabir Chowki to Alka Talkies Chowk, Puram Chowk to Futka Buruj
- Kelkar Road – Tilak Chowk to Jijamata Chowk, Budhwar Chowk to Alka Talkies Chowk
- Kumthekar Road – Shaniwar Chowk to Alka Talkies Chowk
- Shastri Road – Senadatta Chowki to Alka Talkies Chowk
- Jangli Maharaj Road – Jhansi Rani Chowk to Khandoji Baba Chowk
- Fergusson College Road – Khandoji Baba Chowk to Fergusson College main gate
- Karve Road – Nal Stop to Khandoji Baba Chowk
- Bhandarkar Road – PYC Gymkhana to Goodluck Chowk
- Prabhat Road – Deccan Post to Shelar Mama Chowk
- Solapur Road – Seven Loves Chowk to Jedhe Chowk
- Pune-Satara Road – Volga Chowk to Jedhe Chowk

- Seven Loves Chowk (Solapur Road)
- Volga Chowk (Satara Road)
- Savarkar Chowk (Bajirao Road)
- Senadatta Police Chowki (Shastri Road)
- Nal Stop (Karve Road)
- Goodluck Chowk (Fergusson College Road)
Alternative Route Circular Route
Citizens are advised to use the alternative circular route to bypass procession areas:
- Karve Road (Nal Stop) – Law College Road – Senapati Bapat Road – University Chowk – Sancheti Chowk – Ambedkar Road – Mal Dhakka Chowk – Bohla Chowk – Narpatgiri Chowk – Nehru Road – Sant Kabir Chowki – Seven Loves Chowk – Shivneri Road – Gultekdi Market Yard – Satara Road (Volga Chowk) – Sinhagad Road (Mitra Mandal Chowk) – Senadatta Chowki – Mhatre Bridge – Nal Stop.
Note: Two-way traffic will be allowed on these stretches during the visarjan period.
No Parking Zones
From 8 am on September 6 until visarjan ends, parking will not be allowed on these stretches:
- Laxmi Road – Sant Kabir Chowk to Alka Talkies Chowk
- Kelkar Road – Budhwar Chowk to Alka Talkies Chowk
- Kumthekar Road – Shaniwar Chowk to Alka Talkies Chowk
- Tilak Road – Jedhe Chowk to Alka Talkies Chowk
- Bajirao Road – Puram Chowk to Futka Buruj Chowk
- Shivaji Road – Gadgil statue Chowk to Jedhe Chowk
- Shastri Road – Senadatta Chowki to Alka Talkies Chowk
- JM Road – Jhansi Rani Chowk to Khandoji Baba Chowk
- Karve Road – Nal Stop to Khandoji Baba Chowk
- Fergusson College Road – Khandoji Baba Chowk to Goodluck Chowk, and 100 metres around Hotel Vaishali connecting lanes
Heavy Vehicle Ban
- All heavy vehicles will be banned across Pune city for 48 hours.
- Timing: From 12.01 am on September 6 until 12 midnight on September 7, 2025.

Dhayari Phata
- Closed: Dhayari Phata to Umbarya Ganpati Chowk
- Time: September 6, 6 pm to midnight
- Diversion: Via Nanded City and Canal Road
Mundhwa (Keshavnagar area)
- One-way routes in effect from September 6 morning until visarjan ends
- Citizens advised to follow signage near Renuka Mata Temple and Manjari Road
Sasane Nagar and Hadapsar
- Diversions on September 5 and 6 from 6 am to midnight
- Kalepadal underpass and New English School DP Road will remain closed
- Alternative routes provided via Handewadi Road, Ravipark Road, Tukai Darshan, and Ramtekdi
