Ganeshotsav 2025: Toll Waiver for Vehicles Heading to Konkan from August 23 to September 8
Toll waiver announced for vehicles heading to Konkan during Ganeshotsav 2025
Devotees travelling to Konkan for Ganeshotsav this year will not have to pay toll on key highways. The Maharashtra government has announced that from August 23 to September 8, 2025, toll charges will be waived for vehicles and state transport (ST) buses heading towards Konkan.
The exemption will apply on the Mumbai–Bengaluru National Highway, Mumbai–Goa National Highway, and roads under the Public Works Department and Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC).
To avail this benefit, travellers will need a special pass called “Ganeshotsav 2025 – Konkan Darshan”. The pass will carry details like vehicle number and owner information. It will be available through regional transport offices (RTOs), police, and transport departments. The same pass will also be valid for the return journey.
Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who announced the decision, has instructed the police and transport authorities to coordinate and ensure timely distribution of these passes. Public notices and announcements will also be issued so that devotees are aware of the process.
Every year, lakhs of people travel from Mumbai, Pune, and other parts of Maharashtra to Konkan to celebrate Ganeshotsav with their families. The toll waiver is expected to bring major relief to these devotees by reducing travel costs and easing their journey.
