IMD warns of heavy rain and strong winds in Pune this evening
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning for Pune, informing residents about the possibility of intense rainfall and strong winds on Monday evening.
As per the alert, heavy rain exceeding 15 mm per hour is expected, accompanied by gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph, with gusts up to 60 kmph. The warning was released at 4 pm on August 19 and will remain valid until 7 pm.
Authorities have advised people to stay indoors as far as possible, avoid waterlogged areas, and take extra care while travelling. The IMD has also highlighted the possibility of localised flooding and traffic disruptions during the period of intense rainfall.
