Pune: Six Bangladeshi Nationals Posing as Indians Detained in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Deportation Ordered
Pune, July 24, 2025: In a significant crackdown, six Bangladeshi nationals who were illegally residing in India under false identities were detained by Crime Branch Unit 4 in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune. The arrests followed a tip-off and subsequent technical analysis after the suspects fled during initial questioning.
Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Chaubey confirmed that the individuals were posing as Indian citizens but were identified as Bangladeshi nationals through mobile data analysis. A thorough investigation is now underway to uncover more such individuals residing illegally in the region.
“Our Crime Branch Unit 4 successfully traced and detained these individuals after they attempted to evade questioning. Technical surveillance played a crucial role in locating them,” stated Commissioner Chaubey.

Deportation orders have been issued under relevant sections of the Foreigners Act, 1946, and authorities are intensifying efforts to identify and take action against others involved in similar illegal activities.
