Technical Glitch Forces PMC to Extend Amnesty Facility Till July 7
Pune News, July 01, 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has extended the deadline for its property tax amnesty scheme, offering a 5%-10% rebate, to July 7 following technical difficulties faced by citizens while making online payments. The original deadline was June 30, but due to last-minute glitches, taxpayers struggled to complete transactions, prompting the civic body to grant an extension.
Over 7.10 Lakh Taxpayers Avail Benefit, ₹1,244.50 Crore Collected
Between April 1 and June 30, a staggering 7.10 lakh taxpayers took advantage of the scheme, contributing ₹1,244.50 crore in revenue to the PMC. However, many citizens faced issues while attempting to pay online on the last day, leading to long queues at citizen facilitation centers as people rushed to avail the discount before the deadline.
PMC Responds to Public Complaints
Prithviraj BP, Additional Municipal Commissioner, stated, “We received numerous complaints from citizens on Monday regarding payment failures due to technical issues. The rush was overwhelming even at municipal centers. Considering the inconvenience, we decided to extend the scheme till July 7.”
Avinash Sapkal, Head of PMC’s Property Tax Department, confirmed the extension, adding that the scheme has already seen massive participation, significantly boosting civic revenue in just two months.

Taxpayers who missed the earlier deadline due to technical difficulties now have an additional week to claim the discount. The PMC has urged citizens to utilize the extended period and avoid last-minute rushes.
