Pune: New Gypsy Safari Launched to Boost Eco-Tourism in Indapur Grasslands
Pune News, June 29, 2025: In a significant push for eco-tourism, Maharashtra’s Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Dattatray Bharane inaugurated the Kadbanwadi Gypsy Safari in the scenic grasslands of Indapur, Pune district, today. The initiative aims to promote sustainable tourism while empowering local communities and conserving biodiversity.

The launch event saw the presence of senior forest officials, elected representatives, and local residents, marking a milestone in unlocking the eco-tourism potential of Kadbanwadi’s untouched natural beauty. Minister Bharane urged citizens to explore the unique safari experience, stating, “This region is a treasure trove of biodiversity. I encourage everyone to visit, enjoy, and help spread awareness about it.”
To support local participation, the Pune Forest Department distributed cheques of ₹1 lakh each to three Gypsy vehicle owners, fostering entrepreneurship and sustainable tourism. Additionally, the official logo for the Kadbanwadi Grassland was unveiled, providing a distinct identity for future promotions.

Minister Bharane also joined a safari ride, showcasing his enthusiasm for the project’s potential to attract wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers from across Maharashtra and beyond.
