Goa-Pune Flight Nightmare

Around 90 passengers on SpiceJet’s Goa-Pune flight (SG 1080) faced a 2.5-hour delay on Wednesday. The flight, originally scheduled to depart at 5:20 PM, finally took off at 7:52 PM.

Passenger Harsh Kahate shared his ordeal: “The flight from Mumbai arrived in Goa 1.5 hours late, and since it was the same aircraft for our Pune flight, the delay cascaded. The airline didn’t inform us, which angered everyone.”

Once onboard, flyers were greeted with broken tray tables, making it impossible to eat comfortably. Kahate added, “I had pre-booked a non-veg sandwich, but they served something else, claiming my order wasn’t available.”

SpiceJet spokesperson attributed the delay to an operational issue and a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) at Goa Airport. They assured that safety was never compromised and that the aircraft underwent mandatory checks.

Dubai-Pune Flight Lands Without Luggage

The woes continued on Thursday when SpiceJet flight SG 52/937 from Dubai to Pune arrived without passengers’ luggage. Around 140 travelers were left stranded as their baggage remained in Dubai.

Boudhayan Sarbajna, whose wife was on the flight, expressed frustration: “SpiceJet’s service is pathetic. No staff were available at Pune Airport—just outsourced personnel. We weren’t even given a proper complaint receipt.”

The airline later clarified that extra fuel was loaded due to bad weather, forcing them to offload some baggage to meet weight restrictions. They assured that the luggage would arrive on the next flight.

Passenger Outrage & Poor Customer Support

Many passengers reported failed attempts to contact SpiceJet’s customer care. Sarbajna said, “Their IVRS just asks for emails, and no one responds. It’s disgraceful!”

SpiceJet responded on X (formerly Twitter), stating their customer care lines were overwhelmed but operational.

Conclusion

With multiple operational failures and poor communication, SpiceJet’s reputation took a hit. Passengers demand better accountability and compensation for the inconvenience.
