Pune: Multiple Vehicle Collision Near Ved Bhavan in Kothrud Leaves Bus Driver Critically Injured
Pune News, June 16, 2025 – A severe multi-vehicle accident occurred early this morning at approximately 5:10 AM on the bridge near Ved Bhavan in Kothrud. The incident prompted an immediate emergency response, with the Fire Brigade Control Room dispatching rescue teams from NDA, Warje, and a rescue van from the Central Fire Brigade.
According to officials, the collision involved 4 to 5 vehicles, including a bus. Fire Brigade officials said that upon arrival, rescue personnel discovered the bus driver, Uttam Kopare (50), severely trapped inside the vehicle. His legs were wedged between the dashboard and brake, while his chest was pinned against the steering wheel.
Using specialized rescue equipment such as crowbars and cutters, the emergency team successfully extricated Kopare. He was rushed to a nearby hospital via ambulance for urgent medical treatment.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the crash. Further updates on the incident are awaited.
