Pune: 6 Unauthorized Schools Identified in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Parents Warned Against Admissions

Pune News, June 16, 2025: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has identified six unauthorized English-medium schools operating within the city limits, issuing a stern advisory to parents to avoid enrolling their children in these institutions.
For the academic year 2025–26, the PCMC’s education department conducted a comprehensive citywide survey to identify schools functioning without proper authorization. The investigation revealed that six English-medium schools lacked the mandatory official recognition from educational authorities. Despite repeated notices, these institutions failed to obtain necessary approvals, leading to their classification as “unauthorized.”
Public Advisory Issued
Tanaji Narle, Assistant Commissioner of the PCMC Education Department, emphasized the risks associated with admitting children to these schools.
“Parents should refrain from enrolling their children in these six unauthorized schools. If they do so, they will bear full responsibility for any academic setbacks or legal complications. Public notices will be displayed outside these schools, and the list has been forwarded to the Zilla Parishad for further action,” Narle stated.
The move aims to protect students from institutions that fail to meet educational and legal standards. Authorities warned that attending such schools could jeopardize students’ academic futures, including eligibility for board examinations and transfer certificates.
Broader Regulatory Initiative
This crackdown is part of PCMC’s larger effort to regulate school operations in Pimpri-Chinchwad. The education department has urged parents to verify a school’s recognition status before admission to ensure a secure and valid educational pathway for their children.
Parents seeking admissions for the upcoming academic year are advised to cross-check the official list of recognized schools provided by the PCMC or state education boards.
