Mumbai, June 9, 2025 – In a grand tribute to the legendary Maratha warrior king, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today flagged off the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Mumbai, at 06.20 am on June 09, 2025, on the auspicious occasion of Shivarajyabhishek Diwas. This special train, launched under the Bharat Gaurav initiative by Indian Railways, promises an immersive journey through the life and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

A Journey Through History

The five-day tour, curated by IRCTC, will take passengers to key historical sites associated with Shivaji Maharaj, including:

  • Raigad Fort (Coronation site)
  • Pune (Lal Mahal, Kasba Ganpati, Shivsrushti Museum)
  • Shivneri Fort (Birthplace)
  • Pratapgarh Fort (Battle of Afzal Khan)
  • Panhala Fort (Strategic Maratha stronghold)
  • Kolhapur (Mahalakshmi Temple)
  • Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga (Spiritual visit)

During the inauguration, CM Fadnavis also unveiled a Special Journey edition postal cover by the Indian Postal Department, celebrating the historic train’s launch.
