Over 12.7 Lakh Students Register for FYJC Admissions in Maharashtra – Round 1 Closes
Maharashtra, June 6, 2025 – A staggering 12,71,295 students have registered for First-Year Junior College (FYJC) admissions in Maharashtra as the first round of registration closed on Thursday at 2 PM. The Centralised Admission Process (CAP), implemented statewide for the first time, has streamlined admissions, allowing students to apply for seats across 9,281 junior colleges in eight major divisions (excluding Konkan) via a single online platform.
Seat Availability and Stream-wise Distribution
Students are vying for a total of 20.43 lakh seats, distributed across three major streams:
- Science: 8.52 lakh seats
- Arts: 6.50 lakh seats
- Commerce: 5.40 lakh seats
In Pune district alone, 1,19,853 students completed their registrations.
Key Admission Dates
- June 6-7: Students can file objections or corrections in provisional merit details.
- June 8: Final general merit list to be released.
- June 9-11: Zero-round admissions for minority, in-house, and management quota seats.
- June 10: First allotment list for regular CAP round.
- June 11-18: Confirmation of admissions via document upload and fee payment.
Shriram Panzade, Director of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, urged applicants to adhere to deadlines for a smooth admission process.
