The School Education Department has extended the deadline for First Year Junior College (FYJC) online admission registrations to June 5, following recent changes to in-house quota seat allocations in junior colleges. The earlier deadline was June 3.

A new order issued on May 31 revised seat allotment rules, reserving 10% of seats under the in-house quota in privately managed higher secondary schools and junior colleges. Shriram Panzhade, Director of Secondary Education, clarified that in Mumbai city, Mumbai suburbs, and Thane, schools affiliated with the same institution will be treated as a single unit for this quota. Across the rest of Maharashtra, institutions within the same revenue district will be considered a single unit.

Due to these updates, junior colleges must revise their information on the admission portal. Students and parents can also modify their preference order for in-house quota admissions if their chosen colleges have made changes.

Officials reported that 10,85,851 students have registered statewide for FYJC admissions as of June 2, with 1,87,925 from the Pune division. The department has urged applicants to complete registrations on the official portal: https://mahafyjcadmissions.in. The remaining admission schedule remains unchanged.
