PMRDA Commissioner Yogesh Mhase confirmed that three firms have submitted tenders for preparing the report, which will precede the detailed project report (DPR). The project, estimated to cost â‚¹400 crore per kilometre, received preliminary approval three months ago during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who emphasized using modern construction technologies.

The pre-feasibility study will include:

  • Traffic surveys
  • Environmental & social impact assessments
  • Geotechnical & topographic surveys
  • Land acquisition planning
  • Public consultations with residents & stakeholders

Additional analyses will cover traffic demand estimates, hydrology studies, tunnel boring challenges, infrastructure impacts, and safety measures. The report will also explore toll fee structures and assess viability under public-private partnership (PPP) models.

Meanwhile, PMRDA secured third rank in the state under CM Fadnavis’s 100-Day Action Plan, scoring 76/100 in an assessment by the Quality Council of India (QCI). The authority was recognized for citizen-centric services, technological innovations, and efficient grievance redressal.
