Pune: One Killed in Yet Another Navale Bridge Accident as Truck Rams Multiple Vehicles
Pune/Narhe, 3rd May 2025: In a tragic incident on Pune’s notorious Navale Bridge, a truck lost control and rammed into multiple vehicles, resulting in the death of a two-wheeler rider on the spot and leaving another seriously injured.
The accident occurred around 1 pm today when the truck, reportedly travelling from Katraj toward the city, struck four to five vehicles. These included two motorcycles and two auto-rickshaws. The vehicles were severely damaged in the impact. One motorcyclist died instantly, while another was critically injured and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 3) Sambhaji Kadam stated, “Preliminary investigation suggests that the truck’s brakes failed. The vehicle crashed into two motorcycles and two rickshaws. One person has died, and we have taken the truck driver into custody. A detailed investigation is underway.”
This accident occurred just hours after a separate crash involving a Mercedes car at Vadgaon Bridge, raising fresh concerns about the deteriorating safety standards on Pune’s busy bridges and highways.
Navale Bridge has been a known accident-prone stretch in Pune, with multiple fatalities reported over the years due to high-speed driving, brake failures, and inadequate road infrastructure. Citizens and commuters have repeatedly urged authorities to introduce stricter traffic control measures and undertake necessary infrastructure upgrades to prevent such tragedies.
