Pune: 19-Year-Old Law Student Found Dead in Hostel Room on Fergusson College Campus

Pune, Maharashtra – May 2: A 19-year-old law student, Bhushan Domane from Wardha district, was found dead in his hostel room at Fergusson College in Pune on Friday morning. He was a first-year LLB student enrolled at Deccan Education Society’s Navalmal Firodia Law College, located on the Fergusson College campus in Shivajinagar.

According to police reports, a friend of Bhushan knocked on his hostel room door around 10 am before their examinations, but received no response. The friend then alerted the hostel authorities, who opened the door and found Bhushan unconscious. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. His body has been sent to Sassoon General Hospital for a postmortem.

Senior Police Inspector Girisha Nimbalkar of Deccan police station stated that a probe is currently underway to determine whether the death was a suicide or due to a medicine overdose. “We found medicine strips and a prescription at the spot. Medical and postmortem reports are awaited,” Nimbalkar said.

An accidental death report has been registered at the Deccan police station as per legal procedure. Bhushan’s family has been informed, and further investigation is ongoing to determine whether academic stress or other factors may have played a role in his death.
